Article Abstract:

UK construction professionals should be aware that significant changes are taking place in the professional indemnity insurance market. From Apr 1, 1998, architects must comply with the personal indemnity insurance conditions contained in the new code of practice of the Architects Registration Board. It will also become obligatory for quantity surveying firms only to obtain professional indemnity insurance from insurance companies approved by the RICS. Purchasing professional indemnity insurance may become easier as insurers offer new products direct or over the Internet.
