BTB requires new models, strategies

Article Abstract:

Purchase collaboration, purchase scale and purchase time are the three variables that differentiate the online buying process of the business-to- business (BTB) sector from the business-to-consumer (BTC) side. BTB purchasing is usually done by a committee, consisting of interdepartmental buying teams. The amount of time spent before a purchase is made is longer in the BTB category than in the BTC segment. The amount of BTB purchases, in terms of dollar value, are also higher than in BTC purchases.
