Article Abstract:

Bank of America has decided to close its Dallas customer service center by the end of 2000 to focus more on the technology it has invested in at its high-tech call centers in Wichita, KS, Rio Rancho, NM, and Las Vegas, NV. The commercial bank plans to build a customer contact center to replace the Dallas facility, which will offer different services that may include Internet banking and mortgages. The planned closure of the call center will displace 500 agents who will be relocated to the other three centers.
