Bombardier is busy rebuilding OMC engine business

Article Abstract:

Bombardier Recreational Products by the end of Apr 2001 was expected to announce its plans for resuming engine production at the former Outboard Marine Corp's (OMC) facilities. Bombardier's plans coming together

Article Abstract:

Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has quietly negotiated to acquire a plant near Racine, WI, but company officials declined to say what impact this would have on the engine business that was owned by Outboard Marine Corp. and is based in Waukegan, IL. BRP has also been tightlipped about its plans for the former OMC engine business. Industry observers believe that Bombardier will keep the Waukegan plant open and use the Racine facility to consolidate assembly operations from OMC plants in the southeast.
