CMGI enters European market through ADTECH acquisition

Article Abstract:

Internet holding company CMGI Inc has announced a deal to acquire an 80% stake in pan-European Web company ADTECH of Germany. The company said that ADTECH will be folded into Adforce Inc which it acquired in late 1999. The acquisition is part of CMGI's strategy to boost its competitive position in Europe. CMGI owns more than 50 companies and considered to be the largest and most diverse network of Internet companies in the world.

CMGI, Flycast say merger will threaten DoubleClick's revenue

Article Abstract:

San Francisco, CA-based Flycast Communications' sale to Andover, MA-based CMGI Inc will threaten the revenue of rival DoubleClick Inc. Under a definitive agreement, CMGI will buy Flycast in a stock swap value at around $687 million. CMGI, which started operating as a direct marketing services firm, also plans to purchase ad management company AdForce Inc of Cupertino, CA, for $500 million.

CMGI: yesmail data will stay separate

Article Abstract:

CMGI Inc's impending $520-million stock purchase of yesmail.com of Vernon Hills, IL, will not result in conflicts with its electronic mail operations. The company, the owner or majority stakeholder in over 50 Internet-based business enterprises, has vowed to safeguard the confidentiality of private consumer data held by yesmail. Andover, MA- based CMGI admitted that it might get access to these data but said that it lacks any definite plan for its use.
