Roofing busines remains strong - though off slightly from last year's record levels

Article Abstract:

The market for roofing contractors through the first half of 1999 remains strong. However, contractors cited a slight decline in business due to excess building and poorer performance in the oil and agricultural industries. Many roofing companies project to regain business when the summer season opens. Contractors also report an increase in the inspections conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

SPRI: Optimizing single-ply performance

SPRI, which is a trade association that represents 52 roofing materials companies, has conducted numerous research projects. One of the projects sponsored by SPRI is an attempt to discover factors that affect flexible roofing membranes.
