Covered with glory

Article Abstract:

Cellular polyvinyl chloride (PVC-u) is becoming an increasingly popular material in the construction industry. Builders like to use PVC-u for cladding, window extrusions and roof lining in preference to wood because it can be quickly installed and requires virtually no maintenance work. Product developments in roofing products have been slow but many new PVC-u products have been introduced. Concerns over the environmental impact of PVC-u may eventually affect its popularity, however.

Article Abstract:

Shop fronts need to satisfy many requirements in the 90s. Whilst looking inviting they need to conserve energy, be fitted with security and fire prevention systems, provide easy access for the disabled and be able to resist ram-raiding. Security relies on the strength of the frame, door, fixings and ironmongery. Ram-raiding can be avoided by the positioning of external furniture and bollards.
