Sears, The Hatford team to offer auto, home insurance

Article Abstract:

Sears Roebuck and Co of Hoffman Estates, IL, and Hartford, CT-based The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc have entered an alliance to offer auto and home insurance. Under the terms of the partnership, the businesses will offer the insurance services to Sears clients through the Internet, statement inserts, direct mail and other media. The service will use the Sears brand but willl be underwritten by The Hartford Group.

Credit card marketer shifts target online with PeoplePC agreement

Article Abstract:

FirstUSA of Wilmington, DE, and PeoplePC Inc, based in San Francisco, CA, have forged a partnership that will target online customers. PeoplePC, an Internet service provider that offers customers a free computer when they agree on a three-year Internet access for $24.94 monthly, will offer customers a PeoplePC-brand Visa card from FirstUSA. Similar to the e.Card from FirstUSA the Visa card will offer discounts to consumers at several online retail outlets.

Capital One offers Student Advantage memberships

Article Abstract:

Capital One Financial Corp of Falls Church, VA, has entered into an alliance with Student Advantage Inc of Boston, MA, that would allow the company to attract additional college students to its credit card program. Under the terms of the agreement, Capital One will be able to offer both Visa and MasterCard credit cards to Student Advantage discount-club members. Capital One has also been allowed to market its services through Student Advantage's publication and Web site.
