Cox merges Carol Wright into Val-Pak brand

Article Abstract:

Cox Target Media is merging its Carol Wright and Val-Pak direct mail subsidiaries into a single national brand using the Val-Pak name. Cox will combine Carol Wright's national and regional advertising content with Val- Pak's localized products, including Valpak.com, starting with the May 2001 mailing. Cox CEO Bill Disbrow says the one-envelope approach would be very beneficial for advertisers who can increase their marketing efficiency with flexibility in mailing.

DMA urges going 'wider, deeper' in push for self-regulation

Article Abstract:

Direct Marketing Association (DMA) President/CEO H Robert Wientzen urged players in the direct marketing industry to go 'wider, deeper' for self- regulation in the privacy debate. Wientzen expressed his sentiments during the Privacy & American Business Conference in Arlington, VA. He said that direct marketers' push for self-regulation is not enough despite DMA's own effort to convince the industry, policymakers and the media on the impact of self-regulation in the privacy debate.
