DoubleClick goes 'bargain basement' with lower traffic sites

Article Abstract:

DoubleClick Inc has unveiled an Internet advertising network that will sell banner space to lower traffic sites on a nonexclusive basis and at lower rates. The new entity, called Sonar Network, is a move by DoubleClick towards a more response-oriented approach that is primarily accountable to ad buyers than sites running ads. DoubleClick has also acquired 30% of ValueClick Inc., an ad network that charges consumers who click through banner ads rather than on a CPM basis.
