The United Kingdom new housing industry does not focus well on client-oriented sales strategies in comparison to other industries. The client needs to be feel comfortable from the initial visit through to deal completion. Key marketing groups are identified to help develop marketing strategies. These include the one-adult family, the active retired, the city resident and those who want to build their house.

Housing developers are increasingly aware of the need to have a sales centre that will present their brand message and reflects the style of the development. Sales centres currently fall into three categories: the marketing suite, the converted integral garage and the in-between sales centre. Examples of each type of centre are presented.
