Equifax in data mining deal with UK yellow pages

Article Abstract:

Equifax forged a partnership deal with the Yellow Pages Group in the UK in June 1998 to create a corporate database specifically aiming to help US direct marketers target potential British clients. Equifax's extensive data mining will allow customers to analyze and define their business markets as well as maintain marketing databases. The company will generate profit by contacting firms on the database to sell its marketing techniques, while Yellow Pages Group will capitalize from the added value the Equifax's data will give to its service, The Business Database.
