FTC sues 3 office supply firms

Article Abstract:

Three companies have been accused of office supply fraud by the Federal Trade Commission. The cases involve the toner-phone scam in which companie call businesses or nonprofit organizations, misrepresent their identities and the cost of the office supplies and ship and demand payment for grossly overpriced merchandise. The three defendants are Pacific Office Systems Inc of Canoga Park, CA, Corporate Supplies Inc of Cumming, GA, and Allstate Business Distribution Center Inc of Southern California.

USPS' CFO: escrow forcing rate hike

Richard J. Strasser Jr., the chief financial officer of United States Postal Service has decided to hike postal rates due the recent changes in the Postal Civil Service Retirement System Funding Reform Act of 2003 . The hike is to cover a $3.1 billion escrow requirement resulting from changes in the Act.
