Where's Dr. Atkins?

Article Abstract:

The latest catalog from the Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine does not have the famous picture of Dr Robert Atkins on every page but focuses on testimonials of people who have lose weight through the center's diet plan. Jim Murtha, account director at AGA Catalog Marketing and Design, which redesigned the catalog, said they aimed for establishing the brand of the catalog to lend credibility to the center. Among the revisions include the back spread which has the center's director of nutrition answering questions from dieters. Previously, it featured the photo of a protein bar and that of Dr Atkins'.

Retailer eyes mall rats with new catalog

Article Abstract:

Teen footwear retailer Journeys will launch its first direct-mail catalog to take advantage of a growing teen mail-order market. The company will mail the catalog to 1 million 12- to 22-year-olds using outside mailing lists as its primary source. Journeys hopes the catalog will not only generate significant sales but will also boost traffic at its retail stores and Web site. It operates 323 stores across the US but has plans to increase it to 400 stores by 2000.

Fairytale says buy brownies, not roses, on Valentine's Day

Fairytale Brownies Inc launched its first-ever Valentine's Day catalog in Jan 2001 in the hopes that its customers will send the company's brownies products instead of the traditional roses to their loved ones. The Chandler, AZ-based brownie marketer is specifically promoting its 'fairy tale dozen,' a gift box stocked with one of each kind of brownie in the company's assortment, in the catalog.
