Article Abstract:

Fleet Bank of Boston, MA, relied on information derived from its next-generation data warehouse to develop a mailing campaign in fall 1998 that was meant to harvest improved, more dependable and timely information about transactions and consumers. Fleet Bank is the 10th biggest commercial bank in the US. The company started implementation of the enterprisewide, open data warehouse in July 1998. Fleet Bank intends to scrutinize customer profiles using a historical perspective because of the new system's ability to offer more dynamic and extensive data about customers.
