Floating docks: a growing choice

Article Abstract:

Contemporary floating dock systems in 1999 exhibit considerably long lifetimes compared to their predecessors because of technological innovations and advances in materials engineering and anchoring systems. Marina design consultants noted that modern docking systems have a minimum life cylce of 20 years compared to docks in the early 1960s that lasted only about 10 years. Demand for dock systems is expected to grow because the number of marinas badly in need of physical improvements is increasing and this is raising concern in many quarters.
