Article Abstract:

There are many unnecessary costs associated with tendering, according to steelwork fabricator Caunton Engineering general manager Mike Fewster. In many cases, bids have to be prepared very quickly, and this has prompted the company to invest extensively in latest CAD systems. There are many barriers to pricing a job accurately, including the distancing of engineers from fabricators and the lack of information about elements of the design which are related to the work of the steelwork fabricator.
