Hailstorm helps contractor

Westurn Roofing has been ranked seventh on RSI magazine's 5th Annual Top 100 Contractors survey. The Minneapolis-based roofing contractor noted that sales volume rose slightly in 1999 due to additional work on damaged roofs caused by a hailstorm. Westurn CEO Tom Balkins says labor problem is not a problem for the company since there is now a significant Hispanic labor force in the Northern Hemisphere. Balkins credits a good management team in helping him run the company.

Nu-Tech joins New Millennium

Millennium Roofing Inc took the fourth top spot in RSI magazine's 5th Annual Top 100 Contractors survey. Mike Hutchings, president of Nu-Tech, which has joined the Millennium network, said the latter has been building its revenue at a steady rate and would expand to other markets. Hutchings added that the greatest challenge facing Millennium is having an adequate work force. The company promotes itself as a Top 100 contractor through mailings and advertisements.
