Henry Schein to merge Canadian operation with Arcona

Article Abstract:

Henry Schein, a firm which distributes healthcare products and services, announced plans to combine its Canadian operations with Arcona Health Inc., Canada's third largest dental distributor that it recently acquired. The company sees the acquisition as one that will allow it to have improve its presence in Canadian markets. The buyout will add 76 sales consultants, 40 service technicians, nine sales centers and two distribution centers to Henry Schein's Canadian operations. The company intends to use direct marketing methods to sell products. It regards the methods as a way that will bring cost savings to its business.

TigerTel expands call center network in Canada

Article Abstract:

TigerTel Services Ltd., a Canadian teleservices subsidiary of Applied Cellular Technology Inc., has embarked on an acquisition binge in British Columbia where it bought six call centers. TigerTel chairman and CEO Donald Swift said the acquisitions bolster the company's presence in Western Canada. The acquisitions are also part of the company's effort to build a national network and offer service on a nationwide basis, added Swift. By buying existing call centers, TigerTel differs from other call center operators who set up call centers in areas of high unemployment ot take advantage of inexpensive labor.

2 Canadian DRTV companies merge

Article Abstract:

Toronto direct response TV (DRTV) production companies Monte Brooks Production and Northern Lights Direct Response have merged, forming Monte BrooksxNorthern Lights. The merged company will provide DRTV production services to established and start-up companies in North America. Monte Brooks has done DRTV campaigns for Epil-Stop Hair Removal System and Therma Spa. On the other hand, Northern Lights has produced DRTV campaigns for Panasonic and General Motors.
