JWA sells tackle line to Pure Fishing company

Article Abstract:

Johnson Worldwide Associates Inc, a sporting goods manufacturer based in Racine, WI, is selling its fishing tackle lines to Spirit Lake, IA-based Berkley Inc, which operates under the name Pure Fishing. The sale will be worth $34.5 million and includes Johnson Worldwide's Mitchell and Johnson reels, Spiderline monofilament, rods and combinations and Johnson lures. These fishing tackle products gave Johnson Worldwide a total of $58 million in sales in FY 1999, ended in September.

Marine Accessories Corp

Article Abstract:

Marine Accessories Corp (MAC) has acquired Cook Manufacturing Corp (CMC), a manufacturer of marine transom jacks and hydraulic products. CMC is MAC's seventh acquisition, joining Westland Industries, Great Lakes Boat Top Co, Fentress Marine, Boatswain's Locker, Xtreme Marine and Great Lakes Boat Tower. Greg Cook will remain as president of CMC, MAC will retain all employees of CMC. MAC is owned by Prospect Partners LLC of Chicago, IL.

GenCorp OKs realignment that spins off marine lines

Article Abstract:

GenCorp's board of directors has agreed to spin off its polymer products operations into an independent, public firm called OMNOVA Solutions Inc. Its product lines will consist of the performance chemicals and the decorative and building products segments which include the marine products lines. The changeover involves a dividend of one share of OMNOVA commmon stock for every share of GenCorp common stock held on Sep 27, 1999.
