Keep your employees - treat them like volunteers

Article Abstract:

Many managers in the marine industry, just like other managers in other industries are finding it more difficult to keep skilled and qualified employees. Management guru Peter Drucker suggests that employees can be kept by treating them as volunteers and not as employees. The CEO of volunteer organization revealed their method in motivating volunteers to come back. The method included giving volunteers a purpose, keeping them informed, providing positive reinforcement and holding appreciation events.
