Motown revival

Article Abstract:

A new development looks set to revitalize the city of Coventry, England. Work began in 1998 on a scheme which is being called the Phoenix Initiative. It comprises a series of piazzas, gardens and steel arches linking a new visitors' centre, new student accommodation and a proposed commercial development. The scheme leads visitors to other attractions in the city, and the planned cafes and student accommodation should give it vitality throughout the day. The 24 million pounds scheme includes investment from Coventry City Council and the Millennium Commission.
