Overheating market alarms industry

Article Abstract:

There is a danger of the UK construction market becoming overheated, with skills and resources being stretched beyond their limits, according to senior industry figures. The construction industry's workforce has declined dramatically over recent years, and this is now bringing the danger of skills shortages and materials price inflation. In many cases, tender prices are still below budget, but the impact of growing volumes of work will begin to be seen in tender prices shortly.

Tories ignore industry pleas

Article Abstract:

The UK government has stated that it is not willing to provide any incentives for the construction and housing sectors. The House Builders Federation has called on the government to commit itself to increasing home ownership.
