Article Abstract:

Architects at the Chetwood Associates architectural practice in England like to specify wood for windows and cladding in preference to polyvinyl chloride (PVC). They dislike using PVC products unless restricted by costs because they like the look, feel and cost of wood. The practice has a policy of pursuing environmentally-friendly design solutions wherever possible. Some architects were not aware of the material diversity between UPVC, PVC-u, MuPVC and modified PVC-u when asked.
