Poll: Americans find unsolicited mail irritating

Article Abstract:

US direct mail marketers were able to comment on the results of a survey by the Consumer Federation of America that indicates that 78% of US consumers find 'junk mail' irritating. Direct marketers contend that, although some people do find direct mail irritating, the fact is that a large number of people actually buy products because of such mails. Direct mailers noted that it is important to classify the responses of varying demographics in terms of age, education or income.
