Pressure builds to merge shows

Article Abstract:

The eIBEX Exhibitors Statement of PositionE petition has been signed to persuade the promoters of National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and International BoatBuilders Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) to merge the exhibitions organized by the two bodies. The conditions laid down by the petitioners include organizing the IBEX show no later than early December, supporting NMMA with a portion of IBEXEs revenue, co-billing with NMMA, permitting NMMA to promote its educational program and submission to a independent third-party arbitration in case if IBEX does not agree with the petition.

Jobs Action

Article Abstract:

The marine industry is finally taking some serious steps to recruit & train workers in view of a critical shortage of skilled workers. Apart from some scattered attempts, there has been a lot talking, but now some concrete steps are being taken in a unified form. With the present work force moving to its retirement, and lack of new blood things are looking very bleak. Efforts are on to create courses to be introduced at high school level and also to bring about awareness amongst people so that many get attracted to the industry.
