Riding the third wave two years later

Article Abstract:

In 1993, real estate investment trusts reposed their trust in the public offerings of Manufactured Home Communities, which has been renamed as Equity Lifestyle Properties. In 1997 institutional investors started entering this arena tentatively. It was only in May 2003 when Hometown America was allowed to bid for Chateau Communities that the institutional support became evident to the sector. Now, the private investors have started investing in the sector.
