Sega markets game console to help computer neophytes trade stocks

Article Abstract:

Home video game maker Sega Enterprises Ltd of Tokyo, Japan, will team up with securities and brokerage houses to offer online trading services via its Sega Dreamcast consoles. The company will market the user-friendly, online service in Japan in mid-Oct 1999, where it has 1.4 million Dreamcast users with about 400,000 already online. Sega also studying the possibility of launching the innovative online trading service in the US.

All Nation expands Driver's Direct into Wisconsin

Article Abstract:

Southfield, MI-based All Nation Insurance Co is expanding its Driver's Direct direct-to-consumer auto insurance program to include Wisconsin. The program, which already covers Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska, includes a major direct mail test for the first quarter 2000 aimed at securing a more comprehensive demographic profile of the insurer's top clients. All Nation makes around 600,000 direct mails annually.

K-tel expects DRTV to drive Web traffic

K-tel International has launched a K-tel Shopping GmbH, a German web site that will sell merchandise in the German-speaking parts of Europe. K-tel's new German subsidiary is a combination of its German direct marketing response firm Dominion Vertriebs GmbH and its electronic-commerce firm. Dominion's infomercials are expected to drive traffic to the Web site at K-tel.de.
