Spaturn

Article Abstract:

Buxton in Derbyshire, England, has roman remains similar in size and interest to those of Bath although it does not receive the same amount of attention from tourists. The Georgian surroundings such as the thermal baths and crescent have not been maintained very well since the 1780s when they were built. A 3.5 million pounds sterling renovation scheme will restore the buildings and their surroundings to their former elegance. St Ann's hotel will be converted into shops, a museum and heritage apartment.

Fame school cost hike hits McCartney

Article Abstract:

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) project, based on the refurbishment of the former school of singer Paul McCartney, was completed seven months behind schedule and at a cost of around 4.6 million pounds higher than the expected contract value. As a result, LIPA is investigating the possible legal liability of the professional team responsible for the work. Some observers fear that this could spark off many other construction industry disputes.
