BET.com has launched an Owning a Home channel in May 2001 with Fannie Mae, Cendant Mortgage and HomeSide Lending. The channel gives the home-buyer- focused companies an online venue to reach the African-American market. On the consumer side, the channel provides home-mortgage information for the first-time buyers and current homeowners and allows visitors to apply for a mortgage loan online or via telephone.

Realtor's Bid for Web Leads Pays Off

Southfield, Mich.-based Seligman and Associates Inc. hopes to increase its Web site traffic by 25% through a deal with search engine company GoTo.com. The deal, which will allow Seligman and Associates to control several keywords, will raise the profile of five affiliate Web sites operated by the real estate company.
