The facts for life: let there be light

Article Abstract:

The level of luminance required in a location will depend on the activity which is taking place. Maximizing the use of natural daylight is becoming more popular but access to daylight is dependent on the situation of the building and the weather. The type of lamps and lighting control systems can also make a difference to the comfort of users. Photoelectric dimming control systems are more energy efficient and provide better control over artificial light than other systems but are more costly. The position, shape and size of windows can also affect the level of light.
