The problem of the scale

Article Abstract:

It is common for design teams in the UK to encounter difficulties because architects and engineers do not use the same scale on their drawings. Having multiple systems can create substantial additional costs, and also presents challenges when using specialist software for transferring and managing CAD files. Time can be wasted if drawings must be re-measured because the layering protocols are not standardized, or if it is necessary to re-transmit document files because they are in the wrong format. It is possible that certain software products will eventually emerge as market leaders for specific sizes or scales of scheme.
