US and Taiwan Internet companies partner in Asia drive

Article Abstract:

Sterling Commerce, a US-based purveyor of electronic-commerce software, has formed a sales and marketing alliance with Vanguard Information Group of Taiwan to introduce its products across Asia. The agreement calls for Vanguard to identify markets and market segments that are ripe for e-commerce, said Colin Campbell, Sterling's director of international marketing and development. Vanguard then will distribute and install Sterling's products on clients' systems. Campbell said Sterling sees Asia's economic crisis as an opportunity to sell to companies who want to gain the competitive edge during the crisis.
