USPS backs cross-border start-up

Ezy.buy.com will be established by yearend with the help of the US Postal Service (USPS). The company is an ambitious start-up enterprise dedicated to easing global market entry for Internet and DM companies. The deal with USPS does not involve money but the company can use its name and logo. Ezy.buy.com is creating an anchor network that can provide direct marketers and e-tailers a host of global services that are customized to each country they may wish to enter.

German Post looks for $200 million on US market

Article Abstract:

Deutsche Post Global Mail (DPGM), Germany-based Deutsche Post Worldnet's unit in the US, is being prepared to become a $200-million operation, according to a speech given by DPGM general manager Rainer Hengst during the DM Days show held in New York, NY, in May 2000. Aside from DPGM, Deutsche Post Worldnet owns three other mail delivery companies in the US. These are Chicago, IL-based Yellowstone, New York, NY-based Quickmail and Salt Lake City, UT-based Sky Mail.

German Post makes splashy US market entry at DMA

Deutsche Post marked its entry into the US market at the 1999 DMA conference, intent to agressively promote itself in the industry. The German company started its move to become a contender in the US with its purchase of Global Mail of Sterling, VA and Yellowstone International. With an established corporate office in Fairfax, VA, Deutsche Post aims to grow organically and have a permanent presence in the country.
