USPS plans electronic walk sequencing

Article Abstract:

The US Postal Service plans to offer electronic walk-sequencing delivery service for mailers with built-in mail list protectors. Walk-sequencing allows mail to be sorted by ZIP code, carrier route and the sequence in which the carrier delivers the mail. The service would allow mailers to replace the manual production and processing of address cards with an electronic process. The manual sequencing process has become too labor- intensive and expensive for some mailers to maintain.
