Wall of sound

Article Abstract:

Active noise control involves the vibration of structures to counteract noise. It has been successfully used for ships, submarines, sports cars and to lessen the noise of generators and fans in construction. It is in between 5 to 10 years away from commercial application. Active noise control fights noise with anti-noise. Sound travels in waves and a pressure wave that is the exact opposite to the one creating the noise will delete it. It has been successful where the direction of the sound is definable. It is technically more complicated when noise comes from different undefinable directions.
