WebMD may spend $50M in stock buy-back

Article Abstract:

Elmwood Park, NJ-based WebMD Corp has announced its intention to use up to $50 million to buy back shares of its common stock occasionally. The company declared that the purchases would be made either in the open market or in private transactions. The online medical site began focusing more heavily on providing business-to-business software for the healthcare industry since fall 2000. It made its name as a consumer content site following its inception in 1996.

Barnes and Nobel gets magazine subscription business with Enews deal

Article Abstract:

BarnesandNoble.com and Barnes and Noble Inc have acquired a majority stake in online magazine subscription vendor, Enews. Financial terms of the deal between the New York, NY-based firm were not disclosed. Enews has offered subscriptions to more than 100,00 magazines, newsletters and newspapers at www.bn,com since 1998. With the acquisition, Barnes and Noble will begin to offer magazine subscriptions in its 569 stores.
