Claiming on car insurance

Article Abstract:

Car insurance does not always cover everything the driver expects: an excess, costs of transport, compensation for personal injury, loss of earnings, or inconvenience. One in ten people are dissatisfied with the manner in which their claim is handled. Direct Line and Commercial Union are the best at settling claims, with over 70% settled within four weeks. Using authorised repairers can save time. When a car is written off, the insured is paid the value of the car before the accident, which may be based on Parker's guide.

Cover your car for less

Article Abstract:

The AA Insurance Services' Common Policy is one of 23 car insurance policies listed as best buys. Those seeking insurance cover for their cars are advised to check their eligibility for discounts, such as no claims; Pass Plus driving course; voluntary excess; or Thatcham-approved immobiliser discounts. Similarly, consumers are advised to be aware of what their policy actually covers.

Car insurance update

Article Abstract:

The cost of car insurance policies depends on the area in which the policyholder lives, the type of car and the age of the driver. The cheapest policies for a driver aged between 25-29 living in a lower-risk area with a low risk-car are available from Bishopsgate, Federation General, Northern Star and Royal.
