How to buy a used car

Article Abstract:

A checklist of simple inspections that used car purchasers can do themselves is presented. The areas to check include paperwork, the car's exterior, under the hood, the interior, engine performance and performance during a test drive. Information on the legalities of buying a used car in each Australian state or territory is provided.

Tried, tested ... and true?

Article Abstract:

Choice magazine utilizes more rigorous testing conditions than other Australian publications in evaluating consumer products. Some of the information in other publications is useful and interesting, but there is little disclosure how the tests were carried out and some reports are based on the opinions of only one or two people.
