Honecker and the 'lustration' process

Article Abstract:

Some watching the trial of Erich Honecker, East Germany's former leader, want him to spend the rest of his life in jail, while others cite his age and declining health as reasons to let him join his family in Chile. Some Eastern European leaders are in favor of tolerance of the former Communist leaders. People who still believe in the ideology claim that the implementation of Communism, not Communism itself, was at fault. Despite his wrongdoing, Honecker did manage to give East Germans a sense of identity and self-respect and to negotiate with West Germany on an equal footing.

XXXL

Article Abstract:

Designer Irma Boom has created a centenary book for the Dutch multinational SHV Holding that weighs eight pounds and has 2,136 pages. The book has broken the record of 'S,M,L,XL' as the most giant-sized book. Boom has designed the narrative into alternating sequences of text and image. While the text is evened out into a single point size and weight, the photographs have a full-bleed televisual intensity.
