Answering machines

Article Abstract:

Various answering machines ranging in price from $49 to $99 are evaluated for features, message clarity, features and design. The three types of machines are single cassette, dual cassette, and fully digital. The GE FA2-9816C and Panasonic KX-T1006BA lack fast forwarding features and are not recommended. The highest scoring machines are the GE FA2-9866A and the Shimasu F-8008.

Sewing machines have improved features and some computerized machined have memories that allow for sophisticated techniques. Two computerized and two non computerized sewing machines priced between $799 and $2,249 are evaluated. The $1,799 Pfaff Tiptronic 6270 and the $900 Bernina 1008 are recommended.

Many home sewing machines contain many more features than will ever be needed in most households. Among computerized models, the $3,799 Viking Husqvarna #1+ and the $1,999 Baby Lock earned 'best buy' ratings. The noncomputerized Baby Lock Pro Line ($799) also rated a 'best buy.'
