Should we ban tobacco ads?

Article Abstract:

Tobacco is a health hazard but the government does not intend to ban advertising because it is already restricted. The arguments for and against are given, considering the effect on the young, the effect on the economy and freedom of speech. A survey found that over half the general public were in favour of a ban. Facts about smokers, the tobacco industry and the damage smoking can do to health are explained. One in three adults smokes and a third of those die or become ill.
