Steam irons

Article Abstract:

The choice of steam iron should be based on its weight, how comfortable it is to hold, and easy to operate controls. A spray is good to use when ironing very dry fabrics, while a steam function is a bonus when ironing in creases or such fabrics as cotton. In a survey of 28 irons, the Tefal Ultraglide Elite 1970, at 42 pounds sterling, was the best iron in the spray and extra steam category. The Philips HD1457, priced at 17 pounds sterling, was best among irons featuring only a spray. Helpful tips on choosing an iron and dealing with ironing problems are also presented.
