A genetic game of trade, growth and externalities

Article Abstract:

A genetic algorithm was formulated to look for optimal policies in the existence of knowledge spillovers and local pollution under a changing North/South trade game. The algorithm, which aims to address infinite duration's open-loop differential games, takes into consideration noncooperative and cooperative aspects of behavior. It was shown that one possible extension of the model adopted by the algorithm can be made by permitting pollution to collect in such a way that a new dimension to the intertemporal pollution/growth tradeoff is created.

On the open-loop Nash equilibrium in LQ-games

Article Abstract:

Consideration of the open-loop Nash equilibria of the linear-quadratic (LQ) differential game was undertaken to formulate an equilibrium strategy on infinite-planning horizon game. Appropriate conditions were developed to create a unique open-loop Nash equilibrium solution. It was revealed that creation of an infinite-planning horizon equilibrium strategy does not necessitate convergence of the finite-planning horizon strategy.
