Achieving total quality through intelligence

Article Abstract:

The means by which shared and properly-used information can be a powerful tool for elevating quality standards and how information links vital for success in attaining the highest standards of quality can be provided by corporate intelligence programmes are discussed. In this analysis, the linkage between corporate intelligence and total quality is emphasized. The Baldridge Award, which helps companies increase their quality standards regard a company's information exchange as the most critical factor to consider in assessing companies.

Achieving world class performance step by step

Article Abstract:

The integration of the diverse organizational structures of Bridgestone of Japan and Firestone of the US is discussed. The approach used in order to harness the strengths of both organizations is a highly structured approach known as the Strategic Improvement Process.This process involved the appointment of corporate advisers and a coordinator of operations and communications and the use of education to increase awareness of business demands. Eventually, improvements and additions at the rank and file level were also undertaken.

How Bridgestone creates new businesses through new research

Article Abstract:

Some of the methods and systems employed by Bridgestone to improve R&D effectiveness, specially in building new business areas, are described. The company uses a market-related dialogue, a differentiation strategy based on R&D and strategies to build new business units as main approaches. Several suggestions to implement these approaches are spelled out.
