Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on the policies to reduce smoking in the workplace, using the data from firms that have and do not have smoking bans. Findings showed that the workplace smoking bans reduced smoking by 4 to 6% and daily consumption by 10%. About 38% of smokers in the study worked in firms that loosely restricted smoking while only 25% worked in firms that prohibits it. However, workers who do not smoke preferred workplace that ban smoking.
