TQM - why and how it was implemented at Gilbarco
Article Abstract:
US-based fuel dispensing equipment manufacturer Gilbarco realised in 1990 that if it was to become a world-class company it needed to undertake a radical overhaul of its management and production techniques. The company initiated a total quality management (TQM) programme in order to achieve an improvement in production operations and methodology. The program has been extremely successful and Gilbarco was named as one of the ten best manufacturing plants in America in 1994.

One woman tells of her lesbian relationship and her desire to marry. She and her partner exchanged rings and vows and were waiting to be married in Hawaii once the state's same-sex marriage law was approved. However, Congress passed a law that nullifies such marriages in other states.
