Dolphin program aims to supply Qatari gas to Gulf and beyond

Article Abstract:

An ambitious, United Arab Emirates-based economic initiative is taking shape to link up nations in the Persian Gulf region and beyond to an extensive gas supply and infrastructure system. This initiative called the Dolphin program will provide gas from Qatar to the Gulf states, Pakistan and perhaps other nations. It is the largest project of its kind and is designed to stimulate industrial and business development, growth and stability within the participating states.

Elf Aquitaine Oil and Gas Co. and Enron Corp. have signed an agreement with the United Arab Emirates Offsets Group to develop a new gas industry in the Gulf region. The plan will be known as the Dolphin project.
