Students as stewardship agents

Article Abstract:

Washington, DC-based environmental initiative awareness group AG-Earth Partners uses one of the most effective marketing tools to deliver stewardship messages to conumers and policy makers. They team up with students. AG-Earth Partners Coordinator Tom Van Arsdall noted that children are a very enthusiastic audience with no preconceived notions about agriculture or the environment. He also observed that children who are shown the benefits of agricultural diversity and environmental programs and how they can help nurture the earth and its environment willingly share their knowledge with others, beginning with their parents.

Some suppliers have taken prevailing conditions as an opportunity to boost efficiency for crop and livestock production. Other financial alternatives taken by companies include cost reduction programs and crop protection cuts.
