Facing the future

Technology will continue to transform businesses in the future and determine how they operate. For example, wireless technology is expected to result in changes to office layouts. New polymers will enable automobile manufacturers to reduce the weight of their products. Technology may also lead to changes in marketing strategy and change the dynamics of production operations.

The economic crisis in Asia has strongly affected the trade show and conference industry. Companies doing business in the hardest hit regions may have decided to expand or move their shows to areas that were not as strongly impacted. Others have cancelled some of their shows or decreased the size of their shows.
